Royal Ascot Betting

Whilst out riding in 1711, Queen Anne came upon an area of open heath, not far from Windsor Castle, that looked an ideal place for "horses to gallop at full stretch".

The area was called East Cote and today is called Ascot.

The format of the meeting has obviously changed considerably over the course of the last 300 years but even today the Queen Anne Stakes continues to be run as the first race of the opening day of the meeting in her memory.

Royal Ascot is now the most famous race meeting in the world and one of the most popular - over 300,000 people attend each year!

There are some top quality races during Royal Ascot but the showpiece race is the Gold Cup which is held on the third day of the festival (also known as "Ladies Day").

The meeting was held at York Racecourse in 2005 due to redevelopment work at Ascot and I have noticed that the stats throw up some strange results during that year!

There are some excellent betting opportunities to be had during Royal Ascot and I will do my utmost to point you in the right direction!
