The Melling Chase

Distance: 2m 4f This race has been run as the John Smiths Melling Chase since 2005. Prior to that, it was the Martell Cognac Melling Chase (2001-2004), the Mumm Melling Chase (1992-2000) and the Glenlivet Melling Chase (1991). It is part of the Grand National meeting at Aintree in April. 16 fences are jumped over the 2m 4f course. Five winners of the Queen Mother Champion Chase have gone on to win the Melling Chase in the same season. |
