The Lockinge Stakes is a Group 1 flat race which has a race distance of 1 mile.

The race is open to horses of four years of age and above and is run at Newbury racecourse each year in May.

This event began way back in 1958 and has seen some changes along the way, the biggest being when it was promoted to a Grade 1 race in 1995.

Many go on from here to contest the Queen Anne Stakes at Ascot in June.
